BACHELOR IN JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION (BJIVIC).

1.Objective: To demonstrate elements of media industry and to familiarise them with recent development in mass media to expose them to application of new technology and practices in Journalism in various mass media i.e., print media, electronic media, internet etc. This will enhance opportunities of absorption in this emerging field.

2.Eligibility: 10+2 or its equivalent examination passed candidates from a recogniszed Board including Madrasa Education Board Bihar, in Arts/Science/Commerce securing 45% marks in the aggregate.

3.Duration: Duration is Three years. Annual examination will be conducted at the end of each academic year.

Course Structure: The course is divided into three years. 1st and 2nd years consists of four Hons. papers and two Subsidiary papers. In the final year there shall be five Hons. papers and one Project.

After the 2nd year Annual Examination, each student shall undergo a practical training for 8 weeks duration in an approved Newspaper / Magazine/ Publishing House / Business/ Industrial/ Service Organisation and submit at least two copies of the Summer Training Report to the Head of the Department at least 15 days before the date of commencement of the Final year Examinations. The Summer Training Report shall carry 100 marks and it shall be evaluated for 60 marks, and 40 marks shall awarded on the basis of their internal assessment.
